A used gaylord box is one of the most efficient containers in bulk handling: one sheet of corrugated fiber, folded once, commonly rated to carry 2,000 lb or more of product on a standard 48×40 footprint. Most used gaylords come from food plants, print houses, textile mills and distribution centers that received product once and have no further use for the container.
Partner suppliers in our network grade used units by condition before they are sold. Good suppliers reject anything with wet staining, grease strike-through, pest evidence, crushed vertical corners or odor, and sort what passes by footprint, wall count, height and grade so a load is genuinely uniform.
Because the fiber already exists, a graded used container usually costs less than a new one and reusing it avoids making a new box for that trip. Pricing depends on grade, wall count, quantity and freight, and comes by quote from a partner supplier.
What to ask for
- Ask for per-unit grading, not per-lot grading
- Ask for the wall count to be confirmed, not guessed
- Food-adjacent loads should be screened for odor and moisture
- Ask for photographs of your load before it ships
